Shutterbugging

Is He a Shutterbug?

No! For those of you who know me (or have spend hours reading my web page), you’ll realize that I love to take pictures. Of course, I never thought I’d be published let alone exhibited in public! Well, thanks to the power of the Web, I was solicited to display one of my photos for presentation at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. They were looking for a photo to use as part of a catalog entitled Up, Down and Across; Elevators, Escalators and Moving Sidewalks that was being published by Merrill Publishers in London to accompany an exhibit of the same name. The exhibition officially opened on September 12, 2003 and ran until April 18, 2004. The book was published in early September 2004 and you can buy it on Amazon or on the NBM’s web site. As the name suggests, the exhibit and catalog were about conveyance devices and their impact on architecture and culture. They thought my photograph of the longest escalator in Hong Kong (the Travelator) would be a great addition. Enjoy!
